Experience the World
with Pilkington Travels
Who is Jonathan Pilkington, and why does he do this?
My first career is as a voice teacher and professional singer. Traveling with my college choir ignited my passion for international travel. As a college professor, school breaks allowed me to explore whenever possible. Now as a freelance voice teacher, singer, and travel advisor, I travel frequently and use my experiences to create beautiful itineraries for clients (solo travelers, couples, families, or groups). My music training has really honed my listening skills and attention to detail, so you'll be in good hands!
One of my favorite quotes is by John O'Donohue: "Beauty is that in the presence of which we feel more alive." A carefully designed itinerary maximizes your beautiful moments--moments that can change your life!
Beautiful moments can be anything: an African safari or a hike in the woods a Mozart opera in Vienna or traditional music in an Irish pub, a sunset on an cruise in Alaska or sunrise at Haleakalā in Hawai'i!
How does this work?
My goal is for clients to have a spectacular trip. Assuming that you have planned your own trips before, you know that it is rather time consuming. One reason travel advisors exist today is to do the research for you to find the best flights, hotels, tours, etc. that fit your needs and wishes. Through personal experience and extensive research, I recommend suppliers that I trust will provide excellent experiences for my clients, and clients must trust this to be true. If you are looking for QUALITY & VALUE and a well-coordinated trip, then let's talk!
Are you seeking a cultural exploration of Europe or a hike to Machu Picchu? If you are interested in a customized itinerary for a couple, family, or group, I can take care of all of the details. We have an in-depth conversation to discuss your dreams, likes & dislikes, budget, and more. Then, I figure out the best way to exceed your expectations!
I fell in love with cruises after my first one in 2015. Since then, I've been on many more ocean and river cruises. Like everything, there are so many options, from small ships with less than 100 passengers to mega ships with 5-6000 passengers. I can help you find the best ship and itinerary for your dreams!
For pure relaxation, there is nothing like an all-inclusive resort. You pay for everything up front, and once you arrive, your only concern is to enjoy yourself. Do you want a resort that focuses on wellness, or do you want a party vibe, or somewhere in between? Are you a beach person or a pool person? I've done the research so that I can advise you!
I am passionate about hotels. People often say they just want somewhere safe and clean to sleep. For me, the hotel is part of the overall travel experience. As one client said, "I take pride in where I lay my head!" In a 4 or 5 star hotel, you not only have a beautiful building, but most importantly, the service should be exceptional. As a Virtuoso Certified Travel Advisor, I am able to offer Virtuoso Benefits at hundreds of hotels around the world. Typical benefits are $100 food & beverage credit, free breakfast, and room upgrades (when available). Below are a few examples, which I can book separately or include in a custom itinerary.
When people ask about the favorite place I've been Lake Como usually comes to mind, and it's largely because of this amazing hotel! The view is truly as spectacular as this image, and breakfast is an experience worth writing home about.
London is one of my favorite cities, and Egerton House is the most charming boutique hotel in the Knightsbridge neighborhood. A stay here will enhance any trip to London. The afternoon tea and the martini masterclass are not to be missed.
NIZUC was once named the most Instagrammable hotel in the world. The hotel is 15 min from Cancun Airport, and it is beautiful everywhere you look. NIZUC is not all-inclusive, and the dining options are exquisite but also allow for venturing off property for local cuisine.
